How It Works

  1. Enter shift time

    Enter Shift Length and Breaks and planned off time in minutes. Planned off time is outside Planned Production Time and must not also be entered as Stop Time.

  2. Enter production counts

    Enter Total Count and Good Count as whole parts. Good Count cannot exceed Total Count.

  3. Enter cycle and stop data

    Enter Ideal Cycle Time in seconds per part and Stop Time during planned production in minutes. Small Stops remain in Performance.

  4. Review the factors

    Check Planned Production Time, Run Time, Availability, Performance, Quality, OEE, and the simple OEE check. A Performance value above 100% stays visible with a review warning.

  5. Review the waterfall

    Use Stop Loss, Speed Loss, Quality Loss, and Fully Productive Time to see how the planned production time reconciles. Export the result with its source and limits.

Assumptions

  • The worksheet uses one manually entered production process and one shift.
  • Durations are minutes except Ideal Cycle Time, which is seconds per part; counts are whole parts.
  • Planned Production Time equals Shift Length minus planned off time, and Run Time equals Planned Production Time minus Stop Time.
  • OEE equals Availability times Performance times Quality, with the simple OEE check using Good Count and Ideal Cycle Time.
  • The input maxima are finite browser guardrails, not Vorne limits, production standards, or quality targets.

Limitations

  • Does not connect to machines, PLCs, event logs, or live production telemetry.
  • Does not classify stops automatically or recommend a root cause or corrective action.
  • Does not establish an acceptable OEE target, certify quality, or direct a production decision.
  • Does not model production forecasts, staffing plans, shift scheduling, or incoming work.
  • Counts, cycle time, stop classification, and planned off time still require local review before operational use.

Frequently Asked Questions

It calculates Availability, Performance, Quality, OEE, a simple OEE check, and a reconciled time-loss waterfall for one manually entered production shift. It does not connect to equipment or live telemetry.
They reduce Planned Production Time and remain outside the loss waterfall. Stop Time is time when production was intended to run but did not, so planned off time must not be entered a second time as Stop Time.
Small Stops belong in Performance under the Vorne definitions. Do not also include them in Stop Time, or the loss would be counted twice.
The app keeps the raw factor and shows a warning. Vorne says Performance above 100% usually means the Ideal Cycle Time should be reviewed; the app does not clamp the value.
With zero Total Count and positive Planned Production Time, Quality and preferred OEE are undefined. The simple arithmetic ratio may be zero, but it is labeled separately and is not presented as equivalent to preferred OEE.
