Calculate a coolant top-up or correction.

Record liquid present, usable capacity and measured concentration. Enter target and makeup limits from your product instructions.

Fixed makeup mode calculates an addition that fits or a drain-and-replace. Balanced fill mode calculates makeup needed to reach the full mark, then checks the product-approved range you enter. Both preserve measured state and new-concentrate cost.

Pro Tip: Keep the exact product, Brix factor, instrument range and measurements with the sump record. An unknown factor must not be guessed. Mix and remeasure following product instructions.

How It Works

  1. Identify product and instrument

Read the exact product and machine instructions for target, approved makeup, sampling and mixing. Record instrument identity and labeled range. Zero with the same mix water under the instrument instructions; check a reading at the top limit. A clipped reading can under-report concentration, which this arithmetic cannot detect.

  2. Enter measured state

Enter liquid actually present and usable full capacity, plus known concentration or Brix and the exact product factor. Use liters or US liquid gallons and matching concentrate-price units. No concentration target is supplied.

  3. Choose the planning job

Use fixed approved makeup correction or calculate a balanced fill-to-full mix within your product-approved minimum and maximum. Review final level, drain, premix, components, cost and warnings. Impossible and disallowed mixes stop the plan.

  4. Mix and complete the record

Follow shop isolation/drain and product mixing procedures. Prepare premix with water first, then add concentrate while mixing; never add water to concentrate. A mathematical endpoint is not approval for direct addition. Mix and remeasure as instructed, then complete the dated record.

Built For

  • On-target but low sump: calculate the permitted fill-to-full mix.
  • Slightly rich low sump: calculate a weaker fill mix within entered product limits.
  • Slightly lean low sump: calculate a stronger fill mix and concentrate consumption.
  • Full or nearly full sump: identify whether a fixed approved premix correction requires space.
  • Repeated US-gallon/liter maintenance records with product, measurement, approved inputs, cost and remeasurement.

Features & Capabilities

Two distinct planning jobs

Fixed makeup correction returns no correction, a fitting addition that may stop below full, a drain-and-replace, or refusal. Balanced fill derives required makeup and checks physical and entered product limits.

Fixed approved makeup or balanced fill No target or approved-range defaults

Brix and component accounting

Brix times the exact product factor yields concentration. Plans show liquid retained, drained and added, premix concentrate and water, existing/removed/retained/final concentrate-equivalent volumes, both units and new-concentrate cost. These are volumes, not chemical ingredient masses.

Dated sump record

Save or share active inputs and metadata. Print/export all visible values, state, warnings, product, machine, operator, date, instrument, range, mixing order and a remeasurement space. A record is not a fluid-condition or safety certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Multiply the reading by the exact coolant's current factor. Unknown factor stops calculation. Record instrument and range and check scale limits; the tool cannot detect an over-range sample from the number alone.
Use the exact product and application instructions. No universal target or approved makeup range is supplied.
Fixed mode uses your entered approved makeup and may stop below full or require draining. Balanced mode fills the missing volume and calculates required makeup, refusing impossible or out-of-limit mixtures. An on-target low sump still receives a balanced fill plan.
There may be no space for the correction addition. Fixed mode accounts for homogeneous fluid removed before approved premix is added. Complete replacement refills to usable full capacity, not the original liquid volume.
No. The calculation checks a same-product homogeneous volume balance, not contamination, pH, compatibility, water quality, biology or machine safety. Follow product procedures and remeasure.
Gallons mean US liquid gallons. Mixture and concentrate figures are volumes. New-concentrate cost uses price per matching volume unit and excludes water, existing fluid, disposal, labor and tax. No density or currency conversion is performed.
Disclaimer: Same product, homogeneous contents and additive volumes. Product and machine instructions govern target, compatibility, permitted makeup, sampling, mixing and correction. Verify measurements, usable capacity, instrument range and factor. Water first, concentrate last while mixing; mix and remeasure as instructed. No fluid-condition or machine-safety assessment.
