Square or Rectangle to Round Transition Template

Four panels to print, measure and assemble.

Shops & Outbuildings

Enter base width and depth, nominal round diameter and perpendicular height. Develop a centered 48-division faceted model into four labeled paper panels with explicit right-edge lap strips. The free PDF is tiled for Letter or A4 with registration marks and two-axis scale checks.

Pro Tip: Measure both printed rulers, align the tile crosses and assemble paper before transferring a pattern. Keep the bare design edges when trimming projecting tab ends.

How It Works

  1. Measure one datum

Enter width, depth, diameter and height in decimal millimeters or decimal/fractional inches. Height is perpendicular between the planes, not a slant length. The round diameter must fit within both base edges.

  2. Choose the paper lap

Enter an explicit width, including zero. Each panel receives one right-edge paper strip. Review the nominal circle, chord inset, actual panel bounds and untrimmed paper area. No locked seam or hem allowance is inferred.

  3. Print all four pieces

Export the free branded PDF. It includes Letter or A4 pattern tiles with the same input record ID, 10 mm overlap and both-axis 50 mm rulers. Use Actual Size/100%; do not Fit/Shrink or Poster-tile again.

  4. Check and assemble paper

Measure the rulers in both directions. Align three crosses across each joined tile boundary, cut solid lines and fold dashed lines. Join F to R to B to L to F. Trim tab portions projecting beyond the next panel while keeping the bare geometry.
